En effet, les gras satur\u00e9s et <em>trans<\/em> sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme des gras \u00ab moins bons\u00a0\u00bb pour la sant\u00e9 cardiovasculaire. \u00c0 l\u2019inverse, les gras monoinsatur\u00e9s et polyinsatur\u00e9s sont associ\u00e9s \u00e0 des bienfaits sur la sant\u00e9 globale et cardiovasculaire.<\/p>\n<p>De ce fait, l\u2019huile de coco est <strong>tr\u00e8s riche en gras satur\u00e9s <\/strong>(4). Ce type de gras la compose \u00e0 plus de 90% (1, 3). De leur c\u00f4t\u00e9, les huiles riches en gras satur\u00e9s comme l\u2019huile de coco et l\u2019huile de palme ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 une augmentation du cholest\u00e9rol total et du cholest\u00e9rol LDL (1, 4). Par contre, les huiles riches en gras satur\u00e9s semblent augmenter l\u00e9g\u00e8rement le cholest\u00e9rol HDL (nomm\u00e9 souvent \u00ab\u00a0bons\u00a0\u00bb cholest\u00e9rol) (1, 3, 4). En effet, selon une m\u00e9ta-analyse de 2019, l\u2019huile de coco peut augmenter le cholest\u00e9rol LDL lorsqu\u2019elle est compar\u00e9e \u00e0 d\u2019autres huiles v\u00e9g\u00e9tales (2).
