Ingredients
½
cup (125 ml)
rolled oats
(not instantaneous)

cup (250 ml)
milk
(lactose-free or unsweetened vegetable drink of your choice)

cup (60 ml)
water
1
tbsp (15 ml)
chia seeds
(or 1/4 teaspoon psyllium)
¼
apple, peeled and diced
Add a small handful of blueberries

tsp.
honey or maple syrup, a pinch of cinnamon
(optional)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine the rolled oats, milk, water and chia seeds.
Bring to the boil, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, until oatmeal thickens and becomes creamy.
Add the apple and cinnamon during the last few minutes of cooking.
Pour into a bowl. Add additional toppings. Lightly sweeten if desired (honey or maple syrup).
Serve warm or hot.
Notes
Other garnish ideas: a few slivered almonds, a small handful of whole raspberries, plain Greek yogurt.
