We like apples for their soluble and insoluble fibers, which contributes to satiety, production of AGCC and promoting intestinal transit !

Oatmeal with apple crumble

Ingredients

  • 1 small apple unpeeled and diced
  • ¼ by t. rolled oats (make sure they are certified gluten-free if celiac or intolerant)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) ground flaxseed
  • 1-2 tbsp (15-30 ml) sunflower seeds
  • ¼ t. (60 ml) liquid egg whites
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) protein powder (or milk powder or PVT: textured vegetable protein)
  • 1 Medjool date, pitted
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml) ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp (1.25 ml) ground nutmeg

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl. Adjust the amount of liquid according to preference (add water, milk or a vegetable drink).
  • Microwave for at least 1 minute and/or until desired texture.
  • Enjoy! (You can top the oatmeal bowl with extra fruit and/or plain Greek yogurt).

Notes

*For those with a sweet tooth, drizzle with maple syrup!
