Pickled red onions
Ingredients
- 1 red onion, peeled
- 180 ml 3/4 cup (180 ml) rice vinegar
- 180 ml 3/4 cup (180 ml) water
- 30 ml 30 ml (2 tbsp.) of sugar
- 7.5 ml 1 1/2 tsp. salt
Instructions
Preparation Pickled red onions
- Cut onion in half. Slice thinly.
- In a saucepan, bring vinegar, water, sugar and salt to the boil and cook until sugar and salt are dissolved (approx. 3-5 minutes).
- Place the onions in a sterilized pot and cover with the liquid. Close the lid and let stand for 60 minutes.
- Refrigerate at least 1 day before use.
